ATTENTION AT THE RECEPTION WAS EVERYTHING ❤️

After a long time without going to Maracaibo I gave it a new chance (it is no longer venetur) if not Tibisay of the lake. I tell you that I went for three days and when I arrived I was assigned a room that unfortunately did not meet warmth price, the humidity in the room was terrible starting with the carpet that the years have passed through them. Very friendly the lady at the reception tried to relocate me to another room but it was the same, the humidity, bad smells and very old furniture made me want to leave the hotel immediately. However here it does not end, the lady from the reception that I think was the best in my stadium we relocated to the tower (floor12) and the rooms are totally remodeled, the bed is wonderful, has smart TV and internet, the impeccable bathroom and the towels as new, they have a theme with the water that seems desalinated and I found that the water is not being well treated because it had a slightly peculiar smell, of rest really a huge change from one room to the other, the view of the lake and the pool is beautiful and early morning there were some lightning that looked beautiful. I really thank the lady on the evening shift who did everything to keep me, I congratulate her on that customer experience.
But regrettable although the final room was very good the accommodation included breakfast and sorry to tell you that the restaurant is far below what is acceptable, breakfasts for nothing varied, bread (no option to heat it) for no toaster or anything, cold scrambled egg and some meat and chicken, nothing more. Cold coffee and cold milk for coffee, juice of those tang-type envelopes that nothing to see, that same was repetitive during the three days. I know that they make an effort to recover the hotel but they must improve the restaurant, since at breakfast time it does not work and for dinner neither; we must go out to look for options nearby.
In general if you go, please request the remodeled rooms on the 12th floor that are quite good, try to eat outside the hotel that there are several options nearby even on Lake mall, while the hotel manages to regain the quality standards of the Tibisay Margarita.

Disappointing

This hotel is very dated and the service is poor. The breakfast had no flavour, I didn't even bother having it on my second day. The pool looked a bit green. Overall disappointing and I would not stay there again.

Terrible Choice!

This is most terrible option to stay in Maracaibo, this hotel deserve only two stars, three stars is too much. Do not throw your money to the trash, go to Kristoff or Intercontinental 10 times better options. This hotel smell bad, the infrastructure is very pool some room are very old, the personal of the hotel in not well capable to deal with real tourist. A/C not working in several areas of the hotel. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT GO THERE:

Not recommended

Stayed there as a solo traveler passing through maracaibo in January 2015. Don't be confused by the Venezuelan 5 stars, this is nothing but. No hot water, got hassled by the staff while going for a dip in the (dirty) pool. But the worst part is when I had my friend up to my room (really, to finish up a bottle of whiskey I won at club Caribe) and they kept knocking on the door and fighting with me until eventually he just left. Who wants to be treated like that? I think Venatur needs retraining in who are the guests and that you should give them respect. Until then, they will get about one star from me.

Hotel Venetur, Maracaibo

I stayed in this hotel for one night in November 2010.
The room I was given first was over the swimming pool so the noise of the pool units was deafening - also the inside window sills were ripped up.
On changing my room to the other side of the hotel it was lot quiter but the decor and fittings were somewhat shambolic ,with electrical sockets half way out of the wall, fittings chipped and tired.
The area near the pool looking out to Lake Maraciabo was the best point and there was plenty of space to doze around in the sun loungers whilst taking in the light breeze from the lake.
I did not eat at the restaurant but the breakfast was adequate.
Near the lobby there is a photographic history of the hotel which is interesting and shows that, in it's day, the hotel was probably 5 star; not now I'm afraid.....
I was there on business so I cannot vouch for the attractions in the area.
