Good location and was to get to. Looks a lot more tired on the outside than the photos show. Breakfast area wasn’t nice and the breakfast was basic. Nice room, but we had a leak from our shower onto the bathroom floor. Some basic maintenance needed in the property.

Breakfast was fresh daily, friendly staff everywhere. Bathroom had mould in the shower.

Great place outside the main area which is noisy

I Stayed at this hotel twice and both times they took care of me from start to finish.
They took my bags and sat me down and checked me in. I was taken to me room and settled in. The room is bright clean and fresh. Hot water and pressure was great. Air con was strong and lighting was bright even from the windows facing another building across the Alley. There was sockets everywhere and space for 2 suitcases. A storage cupboard with safe and toiletries. Every time i went past the reception they would greet me which was so nice to see a they are not consecration on their work without noticing their environment.
They even stored my empty suitcase between stays which was so nice of them and deserved a big tip twice.
This location is nice to be just on the edge of the French and Old quarters and is a short walk away. I didn't need any transport to get around .
Walking on the narrow pavements takes getting used to and this area is quite safe compared to others with no pavement.
There are a few food places here so you won't go hungry.
The restaurant next door seems to be open 24/7 so be aware there could be some noise from them and the customers chatting loudly.
I would recommend this place just purely for the customer service and care they give in this hotel. I wasn't just a $¥₩€£ . I was a real customer and i was treated that way.
Breakfast on the roof was nice and the staff try their best to accommodate. The buffet is lovely and change every day so you don't get bored.

Excellent location, staff, and service. The included breakfast was fine. What was best was the cleanliness and absence of mold from the air conditioning. Many hotel rooms in Hanoi are moldy, I guess due to high humidity, but De Rond is the only one so far that has been ok in this regard. So, we will definitely stay here again, and try the bigger room next time.

Recommended without any doubt

Great central location between the old and French quarters. In 6/7 minutes walk you reach Hoan Kiem Lake where, after 7 pm, there is no access to cars and motorcycles and you can walk pleasantly. Room and bathroom very clean and of adequate size. Good breakfast buffet. The staff was friendly and helpful.
