Restful and calm
Very nice resort hotel, relaxing, quiet, very welcoming at the reception. Try one of their specialty the dish with goat curry and rice .... to fall, really delicious!

Rooms and location amazing, dinner in restaurant terrible.
Fantastic Room, overlooking the river and the limestone cliffs.
Eat in restaurant in the evening and very disappointed and would not recommend for dinner.
My partner ordered the Wagu steak (the most expensive item on the menu) and it was definitely NOT Wagu. We eat Wagu fairly often, and the taste was wrong and no marbling, it was just a cheap cut of beef.
We could not complain on the night as they did not seem to understand.
We asked for 2 x Coca Cola and ended up with Coconut.
I had chicken friend rice which was very nice.
The only other issue that annoyed was screaming children running around the restaurant constantly in the evening, round and around our table.
Staff did nothing.
We told reception on leaving, but nothing was done.
Breakfast was very good.
We would recommend the hotel as very centrally located with stunning views, and beautiful rooms.
But would definitely not recommend the restaurant for dinner.
Very disappointed that the staff made no effort to sort on check out.

English training and communication protocols for restaurant service staff are being reinforced immediately to prevent such mix-ups.
- Dining Atmosphere & Dining Control: While the resort welcomes many families, staff are expected to discreetly manage noisy or disruptive behavior to protect the dining experience of all guests.
The F&B team has been reminded to proactively handle such situations with care and tact.

Disappointing end to trip
I had planned to give Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh a 5/5 rating, as overall we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, a disappointing experience at check-out changed my view.
While using the shower, one of the ceramic shower gel dispensers broke after slipping from the open shelf where it was placed. It was a pump-style dispenser, and as it was being pressed, it slipped, fell onto the tiled shower floor, and shattered. At check-out, I was charged 150,000 VND for the damage. While I understand the need to replace broken items, the amount seemed excessive for what appeared to be an accident caused in part by a design that is prone to items slipping and breaking. It felt unreasonable to place the full responsibility on the guest when the setup itself is not particularly practical.
Aside from this issue, the hotel was good. Our room was large, comfortable, and spacious. One thing I would recommend is bringing a plug-in mosquito repellent and keeping it switched on. The resort is beautifully landscaped with abundant greenery and water features, which naturally create an environment where mosquitoes thrive.
The resort is somewhat isolated, so taxis are needed to visit most attractions. We used a private car recommended by the hotel for part of our stay, but ultimately found Grab to be the more convenient option, as it allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted at each destination without feeling rushed.
Breakfast was satisfactory. The hotel is large and caters to many tour groups, so the dining area can be quite busy. The Vietnamese dishes were generally better than the pastries, salads, and juice selection, but there was plenty of variety and more than enough to start the day well.
We also visited the spa, where we enjoyed massages, and there is a swimming pool and gym on site. Depending on the day, these facilities can be quite busy.
Overall, Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh is a pleasant hotel with spacious rooms, attractive grounds, and good facilities. However, the charge for the broken shower dispenser left a disappointing final impression and highlighted an area where customer service could be handled with a little more understanding and flexibility.

Just OK
The location and setting is beautiful but after that things go down hill. The rooms need updating, definetly a bat problem on property which is concerning. The food was very good and very helpful/hospitable staff, but would consider an alternative location closer to central area or Tam coc with any future stay for better value.

- Location & Value: The resort's tranquil location near Van Long Wetland Reserve is deliberately chosen to offer a peaceful escape from busy city life. While it is further from central areas like Tam Coc, the goal remains to provide a relaxing retreat that offers great value through peaceful ambiance and dedicated service.

Beautiful large rooms (say ‘houses’) a bit dated but also beautiful at the same time, the woodwork in the ceiling was amazing .
with a ‘smaller’ pool in most clusters.
Very good restaurant for lunch and dinner,
as well as extensive choice for breakfast.
Also a very large and beautiful swimming pool ,both inside and outside .
You can walk around for quite some time and hear many birds and see / smell flowers.
The reason for the 4 stars ;
Rooms were not super clean.
especially changing rooms at indoor pool mane were not clean
