Lovely place to stay - cheap, cheerful and clean. Beds are comfy and rooms quiet.

A well appointed “country style” motel only half an hour from Brisbane CBD.

Having stayed at the Petrie Mill Motel several times during the last few years the decision to stay there again while in Brisbane attending a recent family funeral in was an easy one to make.
The motel itself was clean and well maintained, the rooms are a good size, well appointed, and well priced. The location is great with a small shopping center next door and multiple dining options within easy walking distance (including an onsite café that does great weekend breakfasts and evening meals Thursday, Friday, & Saturday). The motel has excellent access to Brisbane Airport and several major north side shopping complexes. Access to Brisbane CBD is also easy with the Petrie railway station only a five minute walk away.
Without a doubt the standout feature of this motel has to be the wonderfully friendly and helpful manager, Alison. As always from the moment we arrived until the time we left we were treated like lifelong friends rather than just customers and nothing was too much trouble.
The only downside to keep in mind is that, through the week, there are a lot of “tradies” and road workers staying the motel and this can result in added noise during the early hours of the morning as they head of to work.
All in all, it’s great motel in a great location and I would be happy to stay there again.

Very pleasant stay great location with Supermarket and shops nearby also a BWS and local pub
With a restaurant and bar attached to the motel

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the room was spotless, had all the basics and was secure. They have a laundry and a dessert and cocktail lounge. No swimming pools or gyms but if you’re looking for a basic, clean, and very reasonably priced motel, this is the one. Staff made it feel homely and there’s a supermarket next door, as well as the local pub and a few other essential stores

Professionalism and exceptional service

A slightly different review because Cyclone Alfred canceled our trip. However, the kindness and service provided by Petrie were exceptional. Not only did they accept the cancellation, they also waived the cancellation fee that could have been charged. We will book again when next we travel to brisbane.
