A peaceful stay, something different.

We booked Bell Chapel for a last minute weekend away. I'm glad we did.
On entering I was surprised at how big the space was. The photos don't do it justice. There is a sitting area with TV, DVD, Cd player, a dining table, and a lovely firm bed. There were even two fluffy dressing gowns. The kitchen has a kettle, small fridge, microwave and electric frying pans. The bathroom has an easily accessible shower. Apart from light switches this place would be easily accessible by wheelchair.
The church is in a suburban area, essentially you're in someone's front garden, but once you're inside that doesn't matter. Toronto shops are only 5 minutes drive away. Newcastle's about 30 minutes.
The owners were lovely, they have great attention to detail.

Gorgeous B&B

We had a lovely weekend stay at Bell Chapel B&B. The little old Church has been beautifully renovated to be a B&B. The décor and the furnishings were gorgeous!! Everything was so convenient and clean, also. The bed was beautifully set and was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was wonderful and the kitchenette had everything you needed. There was tea and coffee makings - but also all sorts of appliances and crockery and cutlery provided if you wished to cook lunch or an evening meal. The hosts were so kind and helpful about telling you what you could do in the area. They provided delicious food - brought to you the night before - for you to prepare or cook breakfast. In the pretty little garden there is a sweet wooden swing for you to sit and have a tea/coffee, or read a book - or just relax! You are also given the option of a voucher to take down to enjoy breakfast at a café close to the Lake, if you prefer to do breakfast that way.

Disappointing Experience

We made our booking through an on line booking company. When we arrived there was no note, no owner, the office gate was wired shut. No accommodation for the night. I contacted the booking company who were wonderful in helping us out of a somewhat bad situation. I could not recommend a stay here as the operator appears very unreliable and should have contacted us or the booking company to cancel the booking before we arrived.

we are away and our B&B was closed. From the 27th. April. We had no bookings. Spoke to one person who wanted to book and explained that we would be closed and could not accommodate them. Family matters do crop up from time to time and we are a small owner operated business.

Best bed and breakfast in Lake Macquarie

My husband and I enjoyed two nights last week at this lovely bed and breakfast. Tricia is an excellent hostess. I always worry about the host being a bit too over-the-top and chatty but she was very respectful of our privacy.
The room is amazing with no detail left unattended to. The cleanliness was 5 star and the amazing breakfast baskets provided are first class. They also offer a breakfast voucher if you feel like going to a local cafe.
An overall excellent experience and I would not hesitate in recommending this bed and breakfast to family and friends.

Delightful.

Well appointed, clean and tidy, lots of room, a de-consecrated chapel.
High ceiling, original floorboards, comfy setup.
Choice of breakfasts, well stocked kitchenette.
Queen sized bed, but a little hard for my liking (I have a super soft one at home)
The bird chorus begins at dawn , and the light through the upper windows encourage an early start.
Highly recommended.
