Hotel Kaiserhof Wien - Everything you would hope for.
As we all know, we don't travel specifically for the hotel where you'll be staying. But the overall quality of your accommodations can certainly enhance or diminish the total experience of the trip. And when one spends months in advance planning for a vacation, you are still relieved when all the research on various hotels results in a terrific stay. This was certainly the case with Hotel Kaiserhof.
The location in a relatively quiet and safe part of town was ideal - especially compared to the busy areas around St Stephens, etc. But it was easy walking distance to the Belvedere, St Stephens, Hofburg, Opera House. And with the Karlsplatz U-bahn station 5 mins walk, you can pretty much get anywhere quickly.
The hotel rooms were plenty spacious with very nice amenities. Breakfast buffet was as good and extensive as you would wish. All of the public areas conveyed the high class and comfortable touches of an upscale establishment.
Service was attentive and outstanding. All of our questions were met with an attitude of eagerness to help. After contacting the hotel about an item left in the room after we had already left for Budapest, they went out of their way to send it back to me. Special shout out to Alicia D who mailed this on her own time. I was able to reimburse her easily.
In Prague and Budpest, we stayed at Marriott's since we're Titanium Elite. The Hotel Kaiserhof easily matched or exceeded the quality. We would stay there again.
