The Chateau de Harze is a special treat!

We stayed here as part of a 13 day European Motorcycle Tour and it was a very special treat. The historic Chateau and surrounding grounds are fantastic and the spacious rooms with tall ceilings and windows were like no hotel that I've ever had the pleasure of staying. In the evening we enjoyed a lovely three course meal in an impressive stone walled and timber dining room. U.S. Forces used this Chateau as Command HQ's during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. That held some personal significance to myself because as a young man my father's Division took part in the Ardennes engagement 78 years ago. I highly recommend a stay at this wonderful Chateau.

Awesome week-end in a beautifull place

Friendly personnal. Beautifull room and landscape. Had a dream week-end in a castle !
A real cofee machine in the room and a small fridge. Tv but little to no chanel.
A car is however needed in my opinion in order to visit the other interesting places around.

Interesting castle hotel

Although the outside of the hotel looks very much like a medieval fortress, the actual rooms are very modern. None of the castle motif was really continued into the rooms. In fact, there was nothing to distinguish our room from any Hilton or Sheraton offering other than the 15+ foot ceilings. But the room was clean and comfortable and the view from our room of the tower and fall foliage was quite stunning. Found a plaque mentioning the U.S. presence at the Battle of the Bulge, including a meeting with Eisenhower.

We thank you for your comment, that's helpful to have a feed-back about your stay at the castle for our daily progress.
Indeed, the castle was built between the 10th and 13th which explains its Middle-Ages appearance. :-)
We want our guests enjoy modern comforts in their room while staying in a historical place. On the other hand, spaces accessible to the customers are of origin, in particular the Room of the Counts where the last modifications date from the XVII-XVIIIe century.
We're glad you enjoyed the view of our park. The atmosphere changes according to the season.

Wonderful Castle Experience

Very unique experience. It was great having the opportunity to stay in a beautifully renovated castle. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The castle grounds were very well maintained and the exterior of the castle was beautiful. We had one of the castle rooms. It was not large, but was adequate for two people. There was a small refrigerator in the room, which was nice. The breakfast in the morning was plentiful and very good.

NEVER AGAIN

Stayed here for the F1, to say we was disappointed is an understatement. Looks nice on the outside but its run by idiots. One lady on reception was nice and tried to accommodate us best she could, but having to get your own drinks and write down what you have, no toaster or normal tea bags at breakfast, no vodka in the bar. The restaurant wouldn't serve you a drink unless you was eating then when we agreed to eat they said they was booked up when they was clearly not. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
