Staff greeted me as I arrived and got my key. Mani carried my bags to my room and was friendly and helpful as he explained the beach and local area.
There's a restaurant available in the building which I didn't use but is very convenient. It's a short walk to the many beach areas with a bit of an incline to walk back up.
This 1874 Inn is being renovated with new sinks, toilets, flooring etc. You get a great.deal for the price, convenience and friendly service.

Don’t stay at the Windspire Inn
I want to let people know that this hotel is disgustingly dirty. We booked to stay and ended up leaving without getting a refund because there is no way we could stay in a dirty room. There were blobs of dirt on the floor of the room that looked like poop and dust balls hanging from the ceiling. There was no top sheet on the bed only a thin comforter that looked like it hadn’t been washed. When we talked to a staff member about getting a refund he laughed and said he didn’t have authority. We asked to speak to a manager he just shrugged with a big grin.
I sound like I’m rambling but here are a few other dirty things at the hotel.
A bucket of dirty water in the middle of the hallway
A shared kitchen with the door partly ajar that was filthy and smelled odd
The floors a d stairway was very dirty.
It was an expensive lesson to learn about a dirty hotel with very rude staff.

Avoid at all costs.
Language barrier problems. Rooms filthy. Mattress stained. Pot smoking long term renters here. Should be closed down for health violations.

Disappointed
Location *is wonderful, close to beach, walking distance 5 to 7mins
Atmosphere* Inn is poorly maintained, electrical outlet exposed above curtains, out dated decor
Rooms* basic, no hand towel rack, no hand soap, no disposable cups ,no peep hole in door, door was not easy to secure. Needed a coat of paint and refreshing
Value * Over priced
Cleanliness* poor ,railings , doors ,floors
Noise level* ok
Service* No one at front desk had to find someone. Could not print a room portfolio as printer was broken, total bill was different from booking , they had to send by email but did not break down rates., for each night .We were told to take it up with the booking people
Amenities * On website offered coffee in common room, no coffee
Parking is on premises very tight to get in and out

The windspire inn provides good moderately priced accommodation in Port Elgin. The Wi-Fi is excellent. There are ample choices on the TV. The location is fabulous as it is about a four minute walk to the main beach. Easy drive to many restaurants and shops.
