Great clean room, check in was a breeze as i had booked through hotels.ca, the front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful

Breakfast was excellent many choices.
Shower door however didn't close & had to be held shut while trying to shower. Also the bathroom door would stick & it was very difficult to close.

Worst experience ever, do not stay in this dump.

This is definitely the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The hotel was fifthly and building materials were left in the hallway. The pullout sofa was like sleeping on a rock, zero padding and it sloped down in the middle. With taxes this room was $400 per night. Staff did not care at all. Don't ruin your night by staying in this dump.

Beware Group Bookings

Booked here through my son's tournament room block. When I got the schedule and no longer needed the room, I tried to cancel 6 days out. What followed was the worst customer service experience I've had at any Marriott property.
I called Saturday multiple times. No answer. I reached someone Sunday who promised a callback Monday. No one called. When I called back Monday afternoon, the sales team refused to cancel. The manager, Ravi, told me directly that the hotel would suffer no financial loss from my cancellation, but refused anyway because he didn't want to set a precedent with other tournament families. He's right that there's no loss: tournament weekend rates at this property are more than double their normal rates, and rooms for these exact dates are still selling on Marriott's own site. They'll keep my $820 and resell the room at peak pricing.
I'm aware of at least one other family from our block whose room was released the week prior, so the precedent argument didn't hold up either.
I've filed a formal complaint with Marriott corporate. If you're booking for a youth tournament, be aware: this property will hold you to every dollar even if you no longer need the room, the room resells, and they lose nothing. Plenty of hotels in Durham Region want tournament business. This one just takes it for granted.

The stay itself was good, based on location and the amenities of pool/hot tub, breakfast, and the staff experience. However the rooms were a bit run down, the window screens had rips in them, the windows weren't properly on the tracks, the blackout curtains had holes, the couch wasnt very comfortable and the cabinet in one of the bathrooms was held on with velcro which kept falling down.
