Book this place! You wont regret it!

It was amazing! The place, the people, the warm welcome, the pool, the house/room, the food... look no further! Book this place. We booked additional nights we just didnt wanna leave. We went horseriding that was the highlight of the trip! Even with an 8 year old and none of us had any experience! Easy riding through nature was a blast, with 2 cowboys and Silvia who is always around to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We were sad to go and hope to come back . Special bye to lovely Michel and Kattia who were serving wonderful food and drinks.

Family fun

Our family with two kids ages 6 and 3 stayed in the casita with a plunge pool July 2026. We all loved this special property and will be back soon. The kid’s favorites: the comfortable beds, the plunge pool, golf cart rides, visiting baby horses, the main pool
The parent’s favorites: the comfortable beds, the expansive property filled with birds and frogs, incredibly helpful staff, location next to La Selva.
Small negative: you must be let in and out of the front gate by an employee. Early morning or late night tours at La Selva must be coordinated with a gate opener.

Family stay at an eco lodge

We stayed at El Lugar in July 2026 for 3 nights as part of our Costa Rican tour. The staff were extremely welcoming from the moment we arrived. The setting was beautiful and full of wildlife, we saw many birds, howler monkeys and even armadillos on our daily short walks to the restaurant. The highlight was our family horse trek with guide Alex to the most idyllic, natural river swim location. The rooms were spacious, clean with very comfortable beds. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

LUXURY!!

To say it is a dream place is an understatement. A LUXURY hotel!! We are a family of 5 and we couldn't have been better in a cabin to ourselves with two connecting rooms. For the teenagers there are plans upon plans and for the adults, relaxation and more relaxation.....The hotel couldn't be better maintained, the rooms better decorated, the staff friendlier....If you are lucky enough like us to stay in a room next to the forest (rooms 108 and 109), you will see the monkeys in the morning from your wonderful private terrace. The sunset with a piña colada from the infinity pool remains one of the experiences of our trip to Costa Rica. The bed is the most comfortable one I have ever slept in in my life. The stay at the PLACE made us feel like "millionaires" for a day ;)
