Damage
Here are the weak or even prohibitive points, I thought that the first time it was a mistake but ultimately the 2nd time it was the same (unfortunately)
There are 5 of us, we all have an aperitif (in the evening) and not a single peanut or crisp. I make the remark and I am told that there are no more... on a Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.???
the Mojito at 11€ has no rum or so little that you don't feel it at all
the entrecôte really had too much fat which was difficult to eat when I told the waitress she told me "it's an entrecôte".... okay ok but more than half the meat??? so I pay half then???
The linguine was good and the chocolate fondant was uninteresting
In short.... it would take a lot of changes for us to come back because the note is rather strong unlike the Mojito
it's a shame because on the other hand the place is really pleasant but you can't come for the plane trees and the river that flows next to it, you also come for the service and ESPECIALLY what's on the plate

A friendly hotel in a pleasant setting

Quiet hotel, except Thursday nights--guests not given any priority, park a mile away
The hotel is in a beautiful setting with a row of gorgeous plane trees beside a stream. The lobby is very old world and beautiful. Our room was small, but clean and adequate with air conditioning that worked very well. Breakfast was very good every morning, fresh bread and croissants, cheeses, yogurt, juices and great coffee/espresso. The Roman aqueduct nearby is gorgeous and amazing to see. Wifi is VERY spotty. Be prepared to have it very early in the morning, or middle of the night, but not during daylight hours, unless you are very lucky. Fortunately, our friends in Ventraben had good wifi, so we were able to use there.
Laurent was there night and day, with patchy English, but eager to help. My friend and I sat outside and had wine one night after the restaurant and bar closed and he and the rest of the were very nice to let us stay outside.
However, on four of the nights there was very little lighting parking and no lighting in the outside stairway and path to the back door, which we had to unlock after 10pm. We had been told there would be a party on Thursday night, but seeing the size of the restaurant/outside area, we had thought it would not be able to accommodate a huge crowd and weren't worried. Our surprise driving back on Thursday night, 8/1/13, to see a crowd of more than 400 people, with parking on both sides of the tiny road for more than a mile each way. There was no reserved parking for guests that night. I got out while my friend tried to find a space down the road (a mile away), and they were overwhelmed from the enormous crowd and 5-7 people helping. The police had been called, I assume due to noise. As a Logis hotel, we had expected quiet and some respect towards guest who had stayed for 4 nights in two rooms (my friend's kids and husband arrived the last night, so three rooms that night), and minimally, reserved parking for the hotel guests. Jerome, the owner, did offer to move her car after the party ended, but with insurance issues in renting, she was uncomfortable doing so. Had we known the lack of parking, our friends in Ventraben would have dropped us off. The party was incredibly loud, club music and it was difficult to get through the crowd to the back pathway to get to our rooms. We tried to stand in a parking spot as a car pulled out to reserve it for our car, but a very rude Frenchman backed in an very nearly over my mom, with no care toward anything but getting himself in the spot. We were very upset and angry to say the least. The party (directly under our window) wound down about 2:30am, with music being turned off and the crowd thinning by 3am. Not exactly our idea of great sleep after a full day of driving to Baux, Abbey Mont Majour and Arles.
There were no apologies, nothing. I would have given this place 4 stars had there been wifi consistently and not for the parking disaster on Thursday night. I would make sure you're ready to stay up half the night on Thursdays and not need wifi before staying here. Otherwise, you'll be fine.
