Beautiful setting.. Enchanting stay

I have to start this review with a personal tribute to the owners of Chateau Puyrigaud, Veronique and Philippe:
Merci pour votre merveilleuse hospitalité et votre attention constante a tout détails. Vous avez offert le meilleur souvenir possible aux jeunes couple et a leur familles, a l'occasion de leur voeux de mariage célébrés dans votre cadre magnifique le 7 Juillet 2018.
La simplicité authentique et toujours le sourire au visage, malgré votre travail constant derrière la scène, furent extrêmement appréciés. Votre Chateau est charmant et votre accueil bienveillant.Combinés ensemble, vous nous avez donnés de très belles images a chérir très longtemps. Merci!
Château Puyrigaud is simply charming and welcoming. I spent five nights at Puyrigaud in the 'Chais' (old winery) wing, which had been recently renovated. The rooms are very comfortable, each being personalised or themed: chinese, mexican, medieval, romantic, venitian, indian, marine, etc...
It felt more like being a guest in a living home than in a BandB.. Veronique touches are everywhere! And I can't remember her or her husband not working on something or other during the five days. We had a daily breakfast with a proper and generous display of all things delicious and French.
On two nights, Veronique prepared us dinner and had asked for our preferences. Très bon!..
If you want to have a taste of truly authentic french countryside lifestyle, in one of the most glorious region of France, you will be spoilt.
The château is surrounded by splendid grounds, an impeccable swimming pool, amazing vegetation and trees..The Gironde is also the home of particularly good food and wines.
A great place to celebrate a wedding or an event or, -for me next time, just 'sit and stare' and enjoy a very uniquely French quality of life.

Terrible service and overpriced

We had a terrible experience there. The staff/owners where rude, the second day they simply did not serve breakfast, and when we did the reservation we wrote several times asking for confirmation of the room we had asked for. Upon arrival, they had a different room, with no en suite bathroom. We tried to explain to the staff, and they were remarkably rude.
Never again.

Pouvez-vous nous rafraichir les idées car nous n'avons, tous autant que nous sommes, aucune souvenance de votre séjour, si nous avions été aussi désagréables que vous le dites, nous aurions un souvenir de votre passage car ce n'est pas l' habitude de la maison
de recevoir de cette manière. ( N'y aurait-il pas une erreur d'établissement ?? )
De plus nous sommes fermés pour travaux depuis Novembre 2017 jusqu'à fin Mars 2018.

Beautiful quite location but a bit isolated

The Chateaux is a very genuine old building being renovated with taste. The renovation is not a 100% complete but only minor items remain. As an old building, it is a bit quirky, which adds to its unique charm. It is in a lovely but quite area of France. The owners are very good but as they have limited resources, so it is best to be clear what you require for food, well in advance. There is excellent garden ground to the Chateaux and big open air swimming pool for relaxing in and beside. I would recommend this place for a large family and friends gathering to relax and mingle.
As the location is a bit isolated and public transport is poor, bring your own transport. There is nothing in Leoville, so the nearest town is Jonzac, which is a nice place in its own right. The mobile phone coverage is also patchy, so warn others that communication other than SMS will not be happening.

Special Place

A gorgeous setting. A gorgeous Château. Gorgeous hosts; such genuine and lovely people. The world needs more people like Phillipe and Véronique. Gorgeous food. If you're thinking about it, you won't be disappointed. This place is very nice. I did't want to leave.

A very majestic and welcoming getaway

Our first experience together in a Chambres d’hôtes turned out to compare little to any of my other experiences here in France. Out of the three rooms that were available for the chambres d’hôtes, we found it difficult to select one and being the only couple staying there at that time, we were still greeted by a prince’s banquet for a breakfast, finding it difficult to choose where to start and when to finish. Even though the nights fell early, we were never deterred and even profited by the warmth of the fireplace and warm conversation with Veronique and Philippe. We were treated to a delightful tour of the rest of the grounds including the other chambres d’hôtes available, the gîte and the other buildings under repair for future use and we were inspired and breathless with the amount of work, compassion and care that Veronique and Philippe have managed to impart into their renovations. I could not suggest a better place to spend a relaxing, quite and uplifting moment than at the Chateau de Puyrigaud. Thank you both for such a memorable and imprinting experience and we wish you the greatest success for your future renovations and our return.
