Okko Lyon is fantastic! Lovely hotel, comfy room and friendly staff! They have a lounge for all guests to make use of too complete with coffee, massive selection of make your own tea and cake!

Satisfactory stay
Staff was courteous and helpful. Good location by the river Rhône, about a 15- min walk from the Part Dieu train station. Lots of restaurants around the area. Room was small, with a glass box for a bathroom. The room provided little privacy given that you look into a residential building just a few feet away (see photos). So I had to keep the blackout curtains closed all the time to have some privacy. If you care about that, ask for a room facing the street. To be fair, they offered me a different room when I pointed out the privacy issue but I declined as I’d already unpacked. The room is quite bare. There’s a coffee machine (hidden in a box, didn’t see it till my last night) and a safe. Even toiletries are kept to a minimum - only shampoo and soap provided, you gotta ask for other stuff if you need it. Overall very quiet, bed was comfy, shower ok, but shower stall door did not keep the water in. Floor was dirty, with stains showing. Happy hour every evening, with free tastings provided, like charcuterie. Otherwise I did not try the restaurant.
It’s not a 4-star hotel by any means, I’d say 3-star max. It wasn’t a bad experience, I’d return and stay in a different type of room.

Regarding the bathroom, our rooms were designed with open and functional spaces, initially conceived as practical and cozy cocoons. However, we understand that this layout may not suit everyone, especially in terms of privacy. This is why a renovation project is currently being considered in order to improve these features and better meet our guests’ expectations.
As for the amenities, we have chosen to provide essential items in the room, while additional products are available upon request at the reception. This approach is part of our commitment to limit overconsumption and reduce waste, while still ensuring our guests’ comfort.
We also regret the inconveniences you experienced regarding cleanliness and the shower, and we will be sure to share your feedback with the relevant teams to address these points.

While the staff was fabulous, the room itself was difficult.
The room made us feel very uncomfortable. Topping it off was the bathroom/shower area. It felt incredibly voyeuristic because the area was in the bedroom and had glass walls with widely spaced louvers through which we could see into the bedroom while using the toilet. The shower and bathroom had awful drainage, with all shower water flowing into the bathroom without any stoppage. The shower/bathroom were also configured so that we had to walk through the actual shower to get to the toilet and sink. It was so strange.
Plus, the AC wasn’t very good.

Perfect location with easy access to the main train station and main sightseeing, shopping district and old town

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The room had an amazing view over the river and we could open the full length window and look out over the city. The included breakfast and afternoon snack were excellent with comfortable seating areas to relax.
My only criticism was that the air conditioning in our room didn't seem to have much of an effect. It was very hot 35c so struggled to sleep a bit. The location was perfect for exploring the city. Would stay here again.
