Easy walk from Thiviers train station. William was a perfect host. The pool was lovely to have!

Real haven of peace!

I had a very nice stay. The hosts are very welcoming.
The place is very nice and very well maintained.
The kitchen is very good! .
I have been there several times for different occasions.
I will return with pleasure!

A little paradise
Joseph the owner welcomed us very friendly. Very comfortable and huge room with views of the park.
Homemade dinner at the top.
Not overlooked and quiet.
We'll come back to it in the good weather.

Our views on Le Belvédère

Other reviews vary between glowing and derogatory and we can understand why. Le Belvédère is a charming house with extensive gardens and a lovely pool. Our room was spacious and comfortable but the shower needed fixing. The food was delicious. Our host, William, was attentive and willing. He runs the hotel with the chef who we did not meet. But only having two members of staff does not work. William has far too many tasks to complete, so guests are left waiting for inordinate lengths of time to be served drinks and meals. The relaxed, chilled atmosphere that he tries to create turns to frustration among the guests.
The hotel has the potential to be an exceptional place to stay but the slow service needs to be remedied before we would rate it as more than average.

Fabulous!!! My wife and I were looking for a base to stay for 11 days in the Perigord / North Dordogne to allow us to explore the area and found this fantastic "petit chateau" on the outskirts of Thiviers. A large villa in its own extensive garden with plenty of space in which to relax. William the host and Joseph the chef were very friendly, relaxed and attentive. Evening meals (on request) were delightful and freshly prepared and enjoyed sat on the patio by the outdoor pool - we ate with them for 7 nights. William is a knowledgeable host having worked extensively in the hotel and hospitality trade in both France and the UK. He will ensure that you are well looked after and may even tell you a tale or two from his exploits over the years.
We will definitely be returning.
