Relaxing weekend
We had a really nice weekend at the hotel 53 degrees. The staff was very friendly throughout, and the room was absolutely value for money.
I would particularly like to highlight the service that accompanied us during dinner in the evening – impeccable, attentive and extremely nice.
The spa area was well equipped and provided a pleasant atmosphere. The only criticism: The hygienic situation of the ladies' toilet in the spa unfortunately left something to be desired. An improvement would be desirable here.

Once, never again!
If you want to treat yourself to a stay in a truly beautiful setting in a completely dilapidated hotel at inflated prices, this is the right place for you.
A brief conclusion in advance: The property has potential, but without commitment and investment, the wrecking ball is the best solution. Once and never again.
We were at this hotel with a group for 2 nights in mid-July 26. Upon arrival, we already had to wait 10 – 15 minutes until someone finally appeared at the reception, despite the bell.
We were then given a lake-side room without comment, even though we had booked a land-side room. For that, they then wanted to charge us an additional fee on Sunday. They waived that, however, because we were able to show the booking confirmation. It was still 268.- euros for two nights in a double room for two people.
The building, a former health clinic, certainly has its charm if one were to spruce it up accordingly. But apparently, they do not want to. You can see that already in the hallway to the rooms. Stained carpeting, old, randomly assembled display cases that probably had to go somewhere. Tastelessly decorated. One with a string of lights (what for, actually, there was nothing in the display case to illuminate), another with a single small bottle of sparkling wine. One could tell in the hallway that they have no desire for satisfied guests.
Arriving in the room, the air was thick at first. Okay, it was hot, the sun was beating down on the roof windows, and the air conditioning was not turned on. No problem. However, I could not really get the unit to work; it blew a little air, but cooling is something else.
In the evening, we wanted to turn on the light – it did not work. Why? See photo; the bulb was lying loose in the lamp shade, and it looked as if it had already scorched there. The fact that the plugs of the two other lamps in the room, a floor lamp and a lamp on the desk, were not plugged in is strange, but otherwise would not be worth mentioning. But the plug of the desk lamp was life-threatening; see photo. The lamps by the bed did work, but they were also already in a desolate condition; see photos.
Now for the rest of the room's furnishings. Regarding the furniture, one can only say: nothing matched, different eras or series, tastelessly put together from the remaining stock of other rooms or similar. The nightstands consisted of a dresser and an IKEA stool. The bed was placed somewhat asymmetrically in front of the wall paneling, which probably still hung on the wall from the days of the health clinic. The television was on a cabinet that could possibly also hold a minibar, but did not. It covered a picture located behind it. The armchairs in the room did not match each other or the rest of the furniture. The stained carpet had seen better days. The wallpaper is starting to peel off. The bathroom was perfectly fine and clean.
If you did not want to use the elevator, you could take the stairwell. The design of the handrail is debatable, but it was functional. But the carpet on the steps was so worn that the concrete was showing through. Once downstairs, you stood in front of a door, but there was no sign indicating that it led to the reception and the restaurant. Trial and error, we figured it out anyway.
Breakfast on the terrace was fine. You could tell by looking at the terrace furniture, especially the tables, that they had been exposed to the elements for years. This is even more true for the other garden furniture that was scattered across the lawn. Cobwebs, bird droppings, and mouse holes did not invite you to linger.
I cannot rate the restaurant; we had other plans. By the way: The other rooms were not in good condition either; one couple even had to change rooms because the conditions there were just as bad. But the other room was not really any better either.

The location by the lake is truly beautiful and creates a wonderful atmosphere. However, for a 4-star hotel I found the services a bit lacking, and the rooms could benefit from some updates. Overall, the value for money was not quite satisfactory.

We stayed in a deluxe double which had a view out over the garden and on to the lake. The room was clean and tidy but there are no tra or coffee making facilities in the room. Instead there are some 'refreshment stations' placed in the corridor which work on an honesty system. Whatever you take you keep a note of and then declare it at checkout (I think). We didn't use it but some other guests did, at about 1 in the morning, and made a great deal of noise - not ideal. However, not the fault of the hotel really, but just worth being aware of. There is a big car park opposite the hotel, so parking is easy. Breakfast was good, although we did have to hunt for bowls or plates which were not placed close to where you might need them. The terrace and garden are lovely to walk around and it is only a short walk through the garden to the lake.

Thought the hotel was lovely, particularly the bedroom which was a single room. The lobby was a little bit outdated, but this did not matter. The views of the lake from the restaurant and my room were stunning. Great setting.
