Pension Havelfloss
This guest house is situated in a beautifully restored old building in the heart of Brandenburg an der Havel, near the Millennium Bridge. Pension Havelfloß is right on the banks of the River Havel. Pension Havelfloß offers 2 rooms on the ground floor as well as 7 rooms on the upper floor that contain a sleeping gallery with an amazing river view. Some rooms have a sofa that can be used as an extra bed. All rooms offer a height-adjustable Löwe TV and a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, lots of storage space, a large mirror with extra lighting and a spacious and heated towel rail. All rooms include free WiFi and a safe. A hearty breakfast is available on request each morning, and may include salmon or else freshly prepared scrambled/fried eggs and juice from the region. In good weather you can enjoy this on the comfortable garden furniture directly in nature and on the River Havel. A campfire in the inner courtyard provides romantic and cosy evenings. The in-house sauna can also be individually booked. This is an ideal base for exploring the town of Brandenburg. Guests can also rent bicycles or canoes at Pension Havelfloß. For day trips, this is also a 20-minute train journey from Potsdam and a 45-minute train journey from Berlin on a regional train. Please inform Pension Havelfloß in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. Please note that from 14:00 you can pick up your room key at the Cafébar, Ritterstraße 76, 14770 Brandenburg an der Havel. Fancy ideas but impractical
Accessing the small on-site parking is problematic as the guest’s vehicle must have a relatively high ground clearance to take no damage. We considered it as dishonest that the management of the pension drew attention to this problem only after the booking was completed.
There is no proper front desk but we were discovered by a member of the staff and given the room key and the information required.
Normally breakfast is not served before 8 am but you can have it earlier on request. It was of good quality.
We had booked a room on the upper floor with a so-called sleeping gallery offering a view of the Havel River. The design of the room was inventive but not practical.
The TV set must be pulled by a string from downstairs to the gallery. Although this works well the TV-screen was too small. With the comfortable bed being upstairs and the bathroom downstairs you have to climb a steep staircase each time you want to get from one place to the other. This is not without risk as there is only one handrail.
The Wi-Fi in the room worked flawlessly.
All in all the pension be recommend although it is doubtful whether the higher rate for the rooms with sleeping gallery is worth the extra charge. Should we stay at the pension again we would prefer one of the less expensive rooms on the ground floor without the Havel River view.

vielen Dank, dass Sie bei uns zu Gast waren und sich Zeit genommen haben, den Aufenthalt zu bewerten. Dass unsere Leistung sie nicht vollends überzeugen konnte, finden wir sehr bedauerlich. Ihre kritischen Anmerkungen nehmen wir sehr ernst. Dass es zwei Zufahrtsmöglichkeiten gibt, wovon die eine auch für tiefergelegte PKW geeignet ist, werden wir in Zukunft besser kommunizieren. Die höhenverstellbaren Fernsehgeräte in den Galeriezimmer wurden in diesem Jahr neu angeschafft und von einer Fachfirma ausgewählt und installiert. Dass Sie den Bildschirm trotzdem als zu klein empfunden haben ist schade. Die Galeriezimmer, die über zwei Etagen gehen, sind bei den meisten Gästen sehr beliebt. Wer keine Treppe im Zimmer möchte, kann uns dies natürlich gerne vorher mitteilen. Je nach Verfügbarkeit würden wir dann mit einem Zimmer zu ebener Erde dem Wunsch entsprechen.
Darüber, dass Sie unser Frühstück positiv bewertet haben, freuen wir uns sehr.

Superb hotel on the banks of the river "Havel"
The owners are very friendly and you can bring your dog without any problem.
You have a parking place (free and privale) and you can also hire one of their famous "floss", sort of a little house-boat you can drive without any driving licence. Breakfast is included in the price.
Everything is very clean, as usual in Germany!
Count around 80€ for a night and 150€/day for a boat during the high season.

für Ihre ausführliche Bewertung möchten wir uns ganz herzlich bei Ihnen bedanken. Es freut uns sehr, dass es Ihnen insgesamt bei uns gefallen hat.

Die Kopfkissen werden in Kürze erneuert und die Betten, die knarren werden repariert.
Das Frühstück bieten wir auf Wunsch und nach vorheriger Absprache auch vor 8.00 Uhr an. Es tut mir leid, dass Sie diese Information nicht erreicht hat.
