Great family run hotel

I have stayed several times in this hotel and have never been disappointed. The rooms are pleasantly large with balcony, seating area, TV, safe and en suite. The breakfast buffet is what the Germans call "rustikal" and offers a good variety of bread/bread rolls, müsli, meats, cheeses, fruit juices, boiled and scrambled eggs - in short, everything for a hearty breakfast.
The 3-course evening meal (when taking half board option) is good old homemade food. A bit more variety in the starters (usually soup) and puddings (usually yoghurt based) would be desirable. Prices for drinks are very affordable (e.g. €9.00 for a bottle of Dornfelder).
The hotelier and his wife are very friendly, nothing is too much for them.
The hotel is in the centre of this tiny village, which is very peaceful and quiet. The surrounding area invites to hundreds of walks, sightseeing (the Maare) and the Moselle is not far away.

Good for a short stay.

We only stayed here 2 nights. Staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast provided.
Nice terrace at the hotel where you could have a drink and eat in good weather. Which we did.
The room was a reasonable size with a large terrace BUT we had room 106 and I would not recommend it to anyone. The TV was on the side of the bed so it was impossible to watch TV unless you had a stiff neck. The wardrobe door also kept hitting the TV when you wanted to take something out.
The kitchen is located under room 106, so when you get up you are met with odors and not always pleasant ones.
In the afternoon when you came back from your daily activities you couldn't sit on the terrace because people were smashing the schnitzels and the fryer was already on so that we always got the smell of frying fat over us and also our clothes. couldn't freshen up.
We then sat on the cozy terrace of the hotel itself.
All the other rooms were OK with nice views.
We recommend this hotel but please refuse room 106.
The bathroom was OK, but a small shower.
There could be more sockets in the room.

Short break in the Eifel KO

Staff was overwhelmed. Very long wait at dinner. No menu to choose from. Staff was always friendly despite the stress. Rooms were OK. WiFi and cell phone reception was poor. It was an experience I don't need to have again.

freundliches Personal

Wir waren hier, um die schöne Eifel mit dem Rad kennen zu lernen. Dafür hat sich der Hotelstandort sehr gut geeignet - auch wenn man mitten im Tal ist und wir mit dem Auto (Räder huckepack) täglich erst zum "Start" fuhren. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich, die Zimmer ausreichend ausgestattet, aber nicht sehr modern. Wir fanden den Zimmerpreis zu hoch. Die hauseigene Küche bietet viele frittierte Speisen an, was sehr ideenlos ist und abends das gesamte Hotel danach roch. Deshalb würden wir nicht wieder kommen.
