Gladly again, has the 4. Star deserved
Great hotel with very good service. The food was particularly good and rich, everything freshly prepared. At half board there was a 4-course menu with a greeting from the kitchen. A huge breakfast buffet with salmon homemade jam .....
All in all worth 4 stars

Never again!
Unfortunately very disappointing. We had booked two rooms. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Hair all over the bathroom on the floor, cobwebs + spiders wherever the eye can see.
Very unpleasant smell in the whole house as well as in the rooms, it disgusts you partially right. It should be properly aired here, but we had the impression that this comes from the fact that nobody rarely sleeps here. We were also the only guests at the hotel. Strangely enough, according to the photos, there are also more modern rooms, despite the fact that we were alone in the hotel, we unfortunately had no luck there.
Yes, the hotel is a bit older, but even an older hotel can still be clean and well maintained, but this is unfortunately exactly the opposite and I personally would be ashamed to ask for money for it.
According to the website, breakfast was supposed to start at 8 a.m. on weekends, then suddenly at 9 a.m. Again, this one was nothing special and was then difficult to enjoy due to the overall impression and one was more likely to think about what to eat even if it should have been there for some time.
The choice of breakfast buffet on the second day was completely different than if you had been in a new hotel. We then noticed that breakfast guests came from "away" to breakfast that day. When we approached the farmer about the differences: "yes, but yesterday they were also alone". Yes, and? We still pay for it and because no one else comes to their hotel (understandably) we were unlucky? In addition, the buns on the second day were much higher quality than on the first day, so according to the motto: "outside" guests must be offered something else.
Dinner at the restaurant was also not really convincing, flies in the salad, expired beer and ready-made schnitzel. I don't even want to start with the behavior of "serving." Again, a sign that not many guests stay here.
According to Tesla, the charging stations for electric vehicles that exist are currently being replaced and are therefore not available. Strangely enough, the hotel operator's own vehicle charges on it without any problems.
In the end we decided to leave earlier, a holiday should be to relax, but that was more of a pain.
On the bill, we were usually waived the additional night and breakfast.
A well-intentioned advice to the operators: either they make a huge change here or please close their business, because no one will stay with them a second time. And as a guest, you're disappointed and angry that you spent your money here on such a mess. I wouldn't even come back here for free!

The 1 Woman (Service-kraft-Show)
Dear operators of the Wenzelbach restaurant.
On the second day of Christmas 2023, we booked a table for 4 people with you.
On the day of booking, unfortunately, it was not mentioned that a buffet would be offered on Christmas Day!
When we arrived, the drinks were taken and we were instructed to go to the buffet afterwards.
Explaining our ignorance, we received the nice announcement, "We've been doing it this way for 40 years and (literally) just do what the other guests do!"
And she was gone... the very "nice" waitress. (Very unprofessional, friendlier explanation would have been better received....a bit too much Eifel trampling)
I myself have also been working in customer service for 40 years...that was a NO GO
The food was delicious...I recommend serving the starters with butter, lard and some cream horseradish with the fish. The main course would have been even better if the goose parts and the pork fillet hadn't already dried out for hours in the chafing dish. The dessert cabinet, on the other hand, was very original... Great!!! 100 POINTS
The price of €38.00 per person alone is not appropriate in relation to the quality and service.
So unfortunately I would not recommend going there on these days!!!
Because the information when booking in advance and the price information could have been mentioned!!!
Because not everyone has been there for 40 years!

Disappointing
Arrival: No one was available
It took 2 hours for an unfriendly lady to get in touch
Also not clean. Hair everywhere and small crawling creatures living with us.
No private parking

Strange set up
AS the reception at the hotel was open only between 17.00 to 20.00 hours, we were informed by email about the procedure for self check-in.
We arrived around 15.30 and entered the code on the key safe at the front door. Code was accepted and when we looked inside instead of finding key cards there was bugger all. So we had to sit in our car in the rain for 90 minutes waiting for the reception to open.
The elderly person at reception(she was working in the kitchen) could not speak one word of English. It was not a problem for me as I have a school boy knowledge of the language, but to a non German speaker it may be.
Room was adequate and the bathroom modern. On the other hand the bed was great with memory foam mattresses which allowed to have a good knight sleep, at least for me.
Breakfast was good.
