Lovely pool and huge rooms.

The choice of hotels in Tegucigalpa is small. Even less choice in the city centre. Cheap hotels in the centre don`t exist. Excelsior is not cheap by the standards of Central America, but rather cheap by the standards of Tegucigalpa. For 70 USD you get a huge area of room, breakfast, Wi-Fi. Most important for our daughter was the presence of a lovely pool at bottom, where you can swim even at night. This is true because in the evening walking in the area scary. However the day is relatevely quiet. To the centre to walk for about 10 minutes. Staff can speak English, but it`s better to do it in Spanish. It is, however, the General rule for the whole of Central America.

The worst hotel ever

Hello everyone this is a NON visit hotel.
1.the towels were like the ones we use to sweep in my house, with holes.
2.the A/c didnt work
3. Dirty restrooms , i even bought canesten to put on my feet because it smelled horrible. Fungy like.
4. The shower didnt have hot water and when I called Front Desk and wanted my money back they changed rooms.
5. I wanted to open the window because of smell and it had a fkn Screw that didnt let me open the window.
If you book there dont say I didnt tell you

Would stay again

We just arrived home and spent 2 nights at the Excelsior Hotel. One coming and one going. The rooms are large and clean. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and clean. The breakfast is good. The pool is filled and clean. The public area does need new couches. They let us into our rooms early. I recommend 201 or 301. You will enjoy.

Surprisingly Pleased

Hotel Excelsior is located what consider downtown Tegucigalpa on a small hilly crowded, busy street. The service at the hotel is excellent. The hotel provides a daily breakfast which is adequate and it's free. Everyone was very helpful, the bellman, front desk to the security guard in the parking garage. Let me tell you, there's security guard there at all time that opens and close the big iron gate that protects your vehicle.. I know this because some nights I arrived back to the hotel at early morning hours. The hotel inside could be updated but I love the look of the dark grain of wood everywhere. My room was huge with a nice flat screen and cute sitting area. The down fall is, there's no casino and the water pressure sucks when you're showering.

Amazing Stay!

What can i say. The staff, management, and everyone here changed my perception of Honduras. The room had a cozy feel and it was very spacious. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Tegucigalpa.
