Good with need to little enhancement
The crew was friendly
The internet connection is slow and interrupted.
The cleanliness of the room is good.
The location is very good, near to the Cornish.
The area around the hotel suffers from constant rate of construction to build more hotels around.

Adequate, but not remotely a 4-star hotel
3/5 for encouragement, but they have some work to do.
Stayed three nights. Good location within walking distance of the Corniche. Small room. No luggage racks. Amenities included an electric kettle. Reasonably comfortable beds and pillows. A/C worked well, but it frequently didn't automatically restart after the numerous power outages (which lasted 1-2 min). Sufficient number of power outlets.
Bathroom with no shelf space. Shower with 1/3 door which resulted in flooding the floor. Only one bath towel each provided; no hand towels and no bath mat.
No spare roll of toilet paper.
Breakfast items not replenished in a timely fashion. One day there were no utensils.
Wifi with constant stuttering, not working for half hour at a time several times a day.

Comfortable Hotel in Basra
This hotel's clean lobby with white faux-marble floor and Moroccan geometric designs is a delightful place, especially after getting there from the airport and seeing many destroyed buildings and streets covered with rubbish.
The staff in the reception area speaks English, Guests can exchange money at the desk if needed.The rooms are clean with functioning AC and plumbing. ُThe dinning room is clean, there is an aviary with three chirping birds behind a large glass wall.The food, mostly beef or chicken stews is always served with lentil soup and freshly baked bread. Breakfast is the usual Arab variety with local cheeses, such as feta, butter, jam and boiled eggs and tea..
Iraq is a dry country, don't expect any alcoholic drinks in the small bar by the lobby.

Nice Hotel Near the Waterfront
This is a nice hotel (4.5) just walking distance from the port / waterfront. Staff speaks English, and are quick to help with everything - check in and out, turnover and laundry. The rooms are big and clean, and the lobby is decorated really nicely. There’s a little cafe just when you enter.
Buffet breakfast needs some meat options versus just bread, meat and dairy. Also, wifi on the 6th floor is just not that great.
