Relaxing night away

We went for our anniversary. Booked a lovely big seaview room. It was spotless and very comfortable.
Dinner and breakfast in restaurant were both fabulous from beginning to end, excellent and very friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant. The seaviews were fabulous.
The lovely surprises were a beautiful touch and very much appreciated
Look forward to our return visit sooner rather than later ✨️

Ireland trip with best friends!

The Waterfront House & Restaurant is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and the location is perfect. It’s an easy walk to town if you decide not to enjoy a delicious meal at the Waterfront House. However, it’s the owner, Martina, that made our stay extra special. We golfed in the morning and we were looking for a little relaxation. Martina helped us find a spa & set up our dinner reservations. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend staying at the Waterfront House & Restaurant.

Family birthday meal

The service was pleasant but laboured and slow - despite eating very early at 5 because of the two 4yo - there were other staff wandering about but it was left to one to serve 8 of us our drinks - the children were admirably accommodated and loved their dinner - ours was brought out in bits and pieces - my wife's monkfish was cold and she had to eat it much quicker than normal - her sauce was bland and she was finished hers by the time my dinner arrived - the menu was expensive for what it was and we all agreed it was far below their usual standard. We would be reluctant to return to get what we were offered at those prices from a very sparse menu. They really need to refine a few things to meet that standard. Pity really as it was our absolute favourite in that area. Your only as good as your last meal I suppose.

Not a good Restaurant experience

Chose this Restaurant for my Birthday Dinner because it got good reviews. Service very ,very. very slow, mistakes made with our Orders, Food cold, waiting , waiting, waiting even though only four Tables occupied in the Restaurant including our, I nearly got up & walked out not satisfied at at all, good money gone down the Drain. lt was a diaster.

Silly mistakes, but good food.

We arrived in the restaurant at 6:45, the place was fairly quiet and we (table of two) were pushed to the very back corner of the restaurant on a table set for 4 people.
I received my Starter, the pork croquette, it unfortunately had to be sent back as it was stone cold in the middle. The croquette should be split into 2 smaller croquettes to avoid such a thing.In my opinion was far too large for heat to get into the centre, splitting them into two smaller pieces would be easier, just a recommendation. Otherwise, it was very tasty.
I ordered the lamb shank for the main course, the shank was cooked beautifully, pull apart tender, the flavour of the jus was balanced and rich, and the mash was well seasoned and buttery. The baby carrot garnish was very undercooked and I unfortunately found a small piece of tinfoil on the shank.
The dessert was another disappointment as I had ordered the basque cheesecake special and I was given the apple tart by mistake. When I got the basque, I found it was savagely over baked, in the centre of the cheesecake it is supposed to be slightly creamy while holding its shape and the top burnt, I got it and it was quite dense, it was almost like trying to eat a block of cream cheese.
I’ve always enjoyed coming to this restaurant, but the last 2 times I’ve sat down here I have been disappointed. As the only independent sit down restaurants in the town since the Áit Eile, I feel it has a lot to improve, especially with it being in such a prime location.
