Exceptional quality
Everything here is of the highest quality - the room, bed, fittings, huge triple glazed floor to ceiling windows. Large balcony.
The honesty bar for late drinks / snacks is a great idea.
The owner went out of her way to help us with our needs as cyclists.
The staff are delightful, helpful and attentive.
Breakfast was a 3-tiered delight.
Definitely 5*
On Tripadvisor the location is under Bolzano but the hotel is actually the other side of Merano

A gem.
Sleekly modern in design. Warm woods and clean lines make each space inviting with every detail considered to make the guest feel they are in good hands. We only had two nights at this elegant retreat but wished we had many more. The use of fruits, juices, eggs and other products from the family or nearby sources made the lovely breakfasts even more special. Anna was a delightful source of information and Magdalena made sure we had adventure and great food on our outings. Or you could simply relax by the pool surrounded by mountain beauty. Highly recommend.

Finally feel at home
We had become aware of this unique hotel and the dedicated owners and team due to the Recommendation of friends. The very good location in the middle of vineyards and apple orchards we had not had before. The location itself offers a top connection by bus (bus tickets given by the hotel!) to leave the car sometimes. From the hotel the village of Algund and Merano as well as Waalwege (unique hiking trails) are very easily accessible. The entire hotel complex is as new and very tastefully furnished or equipped. You can see the handwriting of the owners! Especially the warm and loving care were unique! Breakfast with in-house and regional production is to be emphasized! We would definitely come back. Thanks for the nice and relaxing time.

Always the first choice. 2023 was the last year booked, but unfortunately had to be cancelled for personal reasons. Now booked for May 2024. And convinced that nothing has changed for the worse.

EXCELLENT!
We stayed at Der Forsterhof for 4 nights at the end of April. What a fantastic little hotel. We opted for the room with an outside whirlpool and were very pleased with our choice. We had a beautiful view of the valley, the apple orchards which were in bloom, and the awesome mountains. We felt like we were in the middle of a fairy tale!
Our room had all the necessary amenities and comfortable beds with high quality sheets and duvets. We had hot showers, fresh towels and fresh sheets everyday.
The breakfasts were AMAZING and limitless...very unique and clever! The eating area had floor to ceiling windows so we could enjoy the amazing gardens from inside...too cool to eat breakfast outside during our visit.
There is an honor bar if the lounge/eating area is unattended. A menu with light choices is available in the evenings. There is no shortage of casual dining venues nearby, most notably the Brewery and Romerkeller.
There is a sizable pool in the garden. Hiking trails are just outside the front door. Der Forsterhof has an underground parking garage with an elevator as well as parking in front of the hotel.
This is a very beautiful property with amazing views, gracious hospitality, terrific food, and a variety of sights and activities to keep visitors busy if they desire. Merano, Bolzano, the South Tyrol Archeological Museum which has the mummy Iceman Otzi, and the Trauttmansdorff Castle Botanical Gardens are a short +/-20 minute drive from the hotel.
Grazie molto to owner/manager Magdalena and to Julia and Miriam, the bright rays of sunshine at breakfast.
