An unique experience

A magical place to go back again and again. Classy and beautiful rooms, and amazing dining room with those amazing paintings that take you back in the centuries.
The garden is big enough to find your own quiet cozy spot and its well taken care but with a slightly wild touch that I love. And that natural pond, the gem of the garden!
Nadine and Stephan are the perfect hosts, warm and friendly, they make you feel at home.
On top of that, Stephan and his good knowledge and passion for wine make the experience very unique and special.
My best wishes for you guys and for Kasteel Baexem!

Something different

Loved the detail in this old house with its high ceilings, and whilst shabby chic works here, cleanliness and upkeep of some of the rooms and shared areas need more love. The pictures do not reflect the current stated of house and surroundings. Staff are are nice and chilled. Breakfast okay. Garden and swimming pond were great but sun this year has taken its toll and needs maintenance to revive it. I do not think we got great value for our money.

Disappointing!

I booked this hotel, which seemed to be very charming, for my sister's wedding. It was my present to the newly weds for their wedding night which told them right away. Initially I asked for the 'pipo trailer' but on the day of the wedding that one had a leaking roof. They offered there suite. Finally it was dirty, full of dust, broken parts in the bathroom, wedding suite with a king size bed plus 2 separate beds!?? Breakfast was ok and the waitress was kind. Overall this was closer to camping or a youth hostel. In one word: disappointing at all!

Magical experience

Our stay at Kasteel Baexem was the highlight of our summer trip to Europe. We spent a week here. The house is wonderful, full of history and art and warmth. The garden reminds me of my favorite books from childhood, The Secret Garden and The Chidren of Greene Knowe. Our family loved exploring all its nooks and crannies. No matter how many people were there, you could find a quiet place all to yourself. Our kids loved the natural swimming pool, and we enjoyed hanging out there and conversing with Anke and Chris. We had a family room which was quite comfortable and roomy. The breakfast room is beautiful and Anke and Chris gave us lots of good ideas for day trips. We had dinner several nights at the Kasteel's restaurant, which is wonderful. We found it a great base for exploring the area -- we visited Essen, the Hoge Veluwe National Park, Delft, Amsterdam, and Maastricht. We would definitely go back -- I hope soon!

B&B in old castle nice location also for family/group events

We had a family event for group of -/+ 16 persons , don’t recall the exact nr of rooms but it’s big enough for such a group, special mentioning is a separate garden house room.
Don’t expect high end furniture rooms and bathrooms but cozy well fitted and styled to the old atmosphere of this centuries old castle sometimes a bit DIY style.
The two large “living “ rooms on the ground floor have for heating 2 big stone soapstone stoves which give few hours after firing a comfortable heating .
Small kitchen for making coffee and breakfast and some refrigerators for keeping drinks cold.
As far I understood when hiring the complete castle it is possible taking your own breakfast and drinks .
The whole is completed with a nice garden nice for a small walk showing lot of variation, two large terraces with both nice views on the garden are making it complete.
We didn’t tried the restaurant belonging to this BB.
Conclusion: nice quiet place for a group event but assume renting a single Bed and Breakfast room will be also good.
