Cozy welcoming atmosphere
Cozy atmosphere, cozy old inn. The hotel has been extended with a terrace boat on the water at the Elfstedentocht turning point, where you can enjoy coffee - dinner. The city became known for the assassination of Boniface in 754 and was for centuries an important trading and fortified city. As a result, many buildings in the center, including around the Raedhûs, have old foundations or a long catering history.

Friendly old charm
This hotel café restaurant also advertises as 'Boutique Hotel Dokkum', because it has only 12 rooms. The pros: friendly staff that made you feel right at home, lots of charm in the old building, tasty food at dinner and breakfast, free public parking a short walk away (De Helling, but be sure not to park at a blue line = 2 hour parking) and a super central location. The cons: steep stairs to some rooms. No real soundproofing, thin doors, walls and windows: street sounds in the weekend hindered a good night's sleep. Bathroom mirror light did not function. No kettle for tea, although advertised as 'with coffee and tea making facilities'. Bed sheet was not fitted and moved away. Thin topper makes the 'crack' between the two boxsprings a bit uncomfortable.

Renovated but it remains an old building
Top location, engines safe in a barn.
Attractive room but in the morning at 5 o’clock our upstairs neighbors left, workmen. And because of the wooden floor you are wide awake. There were few guests, so why.
No breakfast buffet because there were few guests. Then you get things you don't use, a shame.
Because there was some kind of leakage various mosquitoes.

Super location for dining.
Had dinner at this restaurant during our stay at Boutiquehotel Dokkum. Totally good! We had an arrangement with a 3-course dinner, delicious day soup beforehand ( pumpkin soup ) then a delicious game stew and for dessert a peppernut cheesecake. All in all delicious!

Nice stay after a day of touring
Happy and personal welcome after a day of touring Friesland.
The motorbike could be stored in the hotel garage free of charge.
Rooms were recently renovated and tastefully and comfortably furnished.
Rain shower was blissful after a day on the motorcycle with sun, rain, wind and enjoyment.
Only “minus” was that the kitchen was closed once we settled down. But yes, it is and remains the Netherlands and had also bathed for a very long time to get back to temperature.
