A magical Ice Kingdom with rooms awaits

Booked as part of a cruise offering and what a great way to spend a day. The coach there and back offered a relaxed view of the area and the ice kingdom really was magical. Although this was a standard tourism offering, value was good and the whole day just flew past. there are plenty of rooms to view along with some amazing ice sculptures. The guides are informative and helpful. Just be careful if you are unsure on your feet. In Norway, you can purchase overshoes which have spiked soles and they should help. Rooms are available to rent for a given period of time, however, if you are on a cruise, you will not be able to stay over, its one to remember for the future.

Wow! We were warm in sleeping bags provided. Sleeping in an igloo hotel? Awesome.

Ice cold vodka included

We were only on a day’s visit in Alta and booked a trip to the igloo hotel . Understand that there different theme each year and that builders and artists build this awesome structure.
2nd of its kind in the world, cost 395NOK per person which included the ice glassed vodka.
You admire all the sculptures and wall craft - as well as the ice church. You can stay in the hotel , and as check in was 8pm we were able to look into the various rooms and suites. Not sure if I could sleep on insulated mattress, sleeping bag and reindeer skin.
The area has had the warmest March and you could see that very soon it will all melt - until next year.
We spent about 2 hours there , enjoyed the visit.

Staff as amazing, kind and helpful. Igloo room was incredible. Slept like a baby, highly recommend! Just be prepared.

So wanted to come here to stop in the Ice Hotel. Slept really well! On arrival they took you through the procedure for sleeping in the Ice room. The sleeping bags were very warm and due to my thermals I was very earm and comfortable. Theres places to sit if you needed to to come back in and warm up. Spar is great, breakfast good, lots of choice. If you dont have a car I do recommend booking the hotel shuttle. 500 nok one way and 25 mins to the airport.
I only stopped one night. Will definately be coming back again but for longer. This was at the end of a two week trip around Norway
