Completely lovely place

Was in McGregor for a wedding and completely loved Fountain Place - it's hard to imagine that there could be a better to place to stay. Val provides a perfect combination of independence, privacy, hospitality and service.
Each of the two guest suites have their own entrance off the terrace - mine (and I presume both) had a living/kitchen area (fridge and microwave), separate bathroom with a good big shower and a separate bedroom. You can come and go without disturbing anyone. The suite had everything I needed and contains some lovely artworks. Most importantly the bed was great and I slept well.
Breakfasts are excellent - served on the terrace under the shade of the pergola as the weather was good with the fountain tinkling and sunbirds at the feeder - first a perfect dish of granola, yogurt and fruit, with the emphasis on the fruit to start and then a cooked breakfast.
McGregor is a great little town with plenty of places to eat and some lovely galleries and of course the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
Would thoroughly recommend this place.

A peaceful haven

A quiet suite that opens onto a terrace with the eponymous fountain, birds in the branches above the pergola under which you have a superb breakfast,fresh water & milk in the fridge , a short walk to cafes and restaurants as well as places of interest, thank you to Val for the great welcome!

A haven of tranquility

Stayed for five nights in February. Delightful room which opened out on to a beautiful garden. Our breakfast was served in the garden every morning and was delicious. Yoghurt, fruit and granola followed by a hot dish of eggs, bacon etc.
Val, the owner, was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We were totally relaxed and would definitely return if we visit. McGregor again.

Excellent value for money, sweet room, with lovely garden

This was a wonderful place to stay. I would highly recommend it. Excellent value for money. We had a wonderful warm and friendly welcome by the owner. The garden is lovely, really a pretty space.

What an amazing discovery!

We have been coming to McGregor for over 15 years and love the village. We only recently discovered Fountain Place, which is just magical. Valerie was so welcoming, and the cottage is beautifully designed with some wonderful art on the walls.
We had a superb breakfast in the courtyard watching the sugarbirds, and she has the most delightful and entertaining rescue dog!
We will definitely be back!
