Lovely clean rooms, one of the best hotels we have stayed in Spain, staff were very kind and friendly we didn’t pay for breakfast as we had to set off to Portugal early but the receptionist let us grab a free coffee and toast for kids 😍 bar was lovely

Very disappointing experience.

Problems we had at this hotel:
Freezing indoor pool, wood around the pool with loose planks.
Horrible heat in the rooms in the afternoons.
Smell of sewage in the bathroom.
Room with a terrace: they are not individual, only separated by some low planters, zero privacy.
Curtains do not block the light and pillows are too soft.
They charge you for the towels for the supposed heated pool, watch out, it is not a deposit.
Sour milk at breakfast.
I do not recommend this hotel at all.

The hotel seemed very nice, but my experience was pretty bad. I got to my room and it was sweltering -the a/c was not on. A woman from the front desk came up to turn it on. I gave it two hours to cool down but unfortunately it was not working at all (something they might have known before they gave me the room - I'm not certain). A second person came up to confirm that the a/c wasn't working and told me that the hotel was fully booked so they couldn't change my room, and I should open the door to my terrace later on to cool it down. There was no sympathy, no offer of even a free extra water and her solution was not acceptable, because the terrace was open to a number of different guest rooms and I didn't feel like sleeping in a somewhat insecure situation.
When I checked out, no one knew about what happened and when I tried to speak to the manager he/she was on the phone. I was very disappointed with how the hotel handled or didn't handle the situation.

We spent a night in Burgos. The hotel is in a great location, near the cathedral. The staff were very helpful. We had the menu del dia, which was fantastic!! The breakfast was also excellent - we very much enjoyed our stay.

Excellent stay at the Abba Hotel in Burgos

Very beautiful hotel located a few meters from the Burgos Cathedral.
Spacious and perfectly equipped room and bathroom.
We particularly appreciated the little touches (complimentary bottle of water, free chocolates, free drinks at the bar...) that show the interest the establishment takes in its guests.
I do not understand the negative reviews from some travelers...
I travel regularly in Spain and I can assure you that many 4-star establishments in the country do not provide this quality of service, even the famous Paradores de Turismo!
