Excellent service, good food and a beautiful location.
During our hill country trip with a few of my office colleagues in April, we had a lovely stay at Nine Skies, Demodara. Even though it was just an overnight stay, the experience was excellent.
From the warm welcome until our departure, we genuinely experienced their hospitality and caring service. The location itself is beautiful, surrounded by nature and tea plantations, creating a very peaceful atmosphere.
The food was very good, the ambience was relaxing and the customer service was outstanding. The hotel itself is charming, but for me the highlight was definitely the team and the attention they gave to us throughout the stay. First class service.
We honestly did not want to leave that early, but due to our busy schedule we had to continue the journey. This is a highly recommended tea bungalow with plenty of experiences nearby, nature, good food, excellent hospitality and a relaxing atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend Nine Skies. Don’t hesitate, you will not be disappointed.

A Peaceful Escape with Stunning Views
If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of busy Ella, this beautiful bungalow is the perfect retreat. Surrounded by nature and breathtaking views, it offers complete peace and tranquillity—the ideal place to relax and unwind.
The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and attentive, making our stay even more special. A definite highlight was the cooking class with Chef Roshan. He was knowledgeable and patient, teaching us how to prepare a selection of delicious Sri Lankan curries using fresh, organic ingredients picked straight from the property’s own garden. It was a truly authentic experience and the food we made was absolutely delicious.
A wonderful stay from start to finish. I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone visiting Ella who wants to experience the beauty and serenity of Sri Lanka while enjoying genuine hospitality.

What a magnificent stay! The team at Teardrop Nine Skies is truly exceptional. If you're looking for a place to spend a few days in a charming setting with outstanding service, Nine Skies will exceed your expectations. The scenery is simply breathtaking, high up in the heart of a beautifully maintained tea plantation. There are numerous activities to choose from, and Kosun or Salinda will be delighted to organize everything for you. For example, they'll provide you with a device to ensure you stay on the right path during your walks through the plantation or towards Ella. And what can we say about Roshan's excellent cooking class? After an informative tour of their gardens where most of their ingredients are grown, it's time to learn the chef's secrets for making the best Sri Lankan rice and curry. Finally, it's essential to mention how attentive the service team is, always anticipating our needs before we even realize them. Thank you so much; our stay at Nine Skies will remain a cherished memory forever.

As for the food, it was hands down the best we tasted in Sri Lanka! Both the local and international dishes were freshly cooked and of exceptional quality. The best stay ever!
The entire property was beautiful - including the living area, the infinity pool with a stunning view, the room we stayed in - all of it was exceptional. The entire staff was very hospitable, especially Welles who really took care of us, and anticipated our needs and was truly such a joy to be around. We also did a cooking class with Chef Roshan and had so much fun - not only did we learn how to make delicious curries but also had an enjoyable experience.
We also got a tasting menu experience by Chef Isuru - which was hands down the best meal we have had in Sri Lanka.
Overall, Kasun and the team really took care of us and gave us an unforgettable experience!
