Romantic property in nature

The hotel is in the style of a colonial villa, very well maintained and very remote.
You will be picked up in the neighbouring town and taken to the property in a jeep.
The rooms are large and very well equipped, there are also cottages outside. The pool is fantastic and anyone who wants to see animals can do so from the pool or terrace. We saw an elephant, monkeys, squirrels, giant squirrels and a lot of birds there. The location is very quiet and romantic. A freshly prepared breakfast is offered (included in the price), dinner is also freshly prepared and offered as a menu for 25USD, highly recommended and alternatively as there is no dining nearby. During the day, food and drinks are served at fair prices. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed nature and a little luxury here very much.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience - it's wonderful to hear you enjoyed the peace and wildlife from the pool and terrace. The giant squirrels are always a treat, and I'm glad the elephant made an appearance during your stay.
We appreciate your kind words about the food and the team's efforts. It means a lot to us.
We hope to welcome you back to the estate one day.
Best wishes,
Mark

Serenity in the Mountains, covered in tea!

The arrival experience is for the adventurous of spirit - tough terrain with beautiful views for 45 minutes to arrive from Koslanda. Thereafter the privacy, tranquility and abundance of birds, peacocks, monkeys and friendly cows was wonderful. Excellent food for breakfast and dinner, lovely caring service, we enjoyed our time there. A real highlight was the truly magnificent swimming pool and we enjoyed hiking up to Lipton Seat.

A 1930s-style hideaway with stunning views.

Idyllic hideaway that feels like a private house. The views from the veranda and stunning infinity pool are breathtaking. Wonderful service and food add to the sense of being an honoured guest at a private home. Well worth the bumpy jeep journey to get there.

Predicate: particularly valuable, but at the felt end of the world

Due to an obviously closed road at the moment, the approach is in itself an experience. At the transfer point change to jeeps and 45 min drive at 5km/h through the forest. You don't know if it was better in the dark or in the light. Once at the top, you can't imagine how the old but harmonious decor would have got here. Plenty of space to read and dream, a great garden overlooking the tea plantations and a fresh pool with but breathtaking views. Rooms colonial-style. Everything very well maintained at the felt end of the world, no luxury but a very special and well maintained property. It doesn't even seem like a hotel. Essen solide. Gin recommended ! Here you should stay more 2-3 nights, otherwise it is not worth the journey. The only thing a bit unusual is the staff, who are very friendly, but only walk around in t-shirt and swimwear. That doesn't really fit the great Mood

Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re so pleased you enjoyed the house, garden, views, and the unique journey up here — it’s always special to hear how much guests value the setting and atmosphere. We’ve also taken note of your comment on staff presentation; we’re already in the process of updating uniforms to ensure they match the property’s character. We look forward to welcoming you back for a longer stay next time. Best wishes, Mark

Returned After 6 Years – Still as Magical as Ever!

We made it back to The Planters House after six years and couldn’t help but wonder why we waited so long! The charm of this beautiful bungalow remains unchanged since our last visit in 2019. It was lovely to see the same familiar faces—Amila and Lasantha, who took wonderful care of us.
During our stay, we had the entire bungalow to ourselves— which was truly special and relaxing. The Peacock Suite, the pool, and the food were all outstanding.
We’ve promised ourselves not to wait so long next time—this place deserves more frequent visits!
