Absolutely Fabulous B&B / Boutique Hotel
We found this wonderful place by chance when looking to stay in Bath. Fortunately for us most hotels were fully booked, had bad reviews or were extortionately priced.
We were late arriving but received a very warm welcome by Andrew, the owner. When we entered the property we were immediately impressed with the extremely high standard of decor and cleanliness. Our room was truly lovely, it was enormous with an equally huge en suite bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with pristine white linen. There were hot & cold beverages and high quality bathroom products. Breakfast was served at a time that suited us and not set times, this was great as we’re not early risers. It was continental style and we thoroughly enjoyed it, again Andrew was very attentive with plenty of hot beverages and had good advice on car parking etc in Bath.
Andrew also offers a taxi service which is an added bonus

Poplars Hotel B+B
The hotel was fantastic after arriving late into the night and 4 hours after our scheduled arrival due to bad traffic, we were greeted with a smile and a very nice welcome from Andrew the owner. First impression was a very clean and very high standard accommodation of which Andrew was very proud of and so would I be, nothing was any trouble and a very likeable person was he. He knows the area very well and can also offer a taxi service. I would class this as a B&B rather than a hotel but a very high class B&B a lot better than most hotels I’ve stayed at, with a very relaxed friendly atmosphere offering a excellent continental breakfast at a time that suited us, rather than the crack of dawn like most establishments. Our room was large bright and airy, with a lovely comfortable bed with a large wardrobe dressing table a pair of chairs with tea and coffee making facilities, the bathroom was also large enough to house the local rugby team again finished to a very high standard, the cleanliness was exactly how you would expect it to be, there is ample parking and the continental breakfast superb, We stayed here while visiting the town of Bath, which is only 14 miles away, and had a traffic free drive in and out of Bath thanks to the park and ride situated at Lansdown, to which you pay £3 per adult for a return fair, this includes your car parking. Andrew is a very knowledgeable guy and can advise on almost anything in the local towns and cities. There was no Tv in the room but there is one in the communal area with nice comfy sofas to sit and relax in, all in all a fantastic place and will definitely be telling friends and family about it, and plan to head back here for a break later in the year.
