Enjoyable stay

We recently spent a night at the the Griffin Inn. The evening meal we enjoyed was excellent. My wife had the sea bass which was nicely presented with capers etc on a shallow plate. She said that if we were there a second night she'd have it again.
I had the Griffin burger with fries and slaw, also excellent. The meringue with forest fruit and coulis dessert I had was superb. The young ladies who served us were very friendly and efficient.
The breakfast was fine. A choice of fruit juices, cereals and youghurts. The full Welsh breakfast was excellent, nicely cooked with good quality sausages, bacon, black pudding etc.
Our bedroom was in the loft so not really suitable for tall people but not a problem for us. The bathroom with over-bath shower was very nice indeed. The only minus was that the hot water didn't seem to reach the attic - despite our best efforts the best we achieved was lukewarm.
We would happily return to the Griffin Inn.

Welcoming and comfortable with good food

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while walking the Offa’s Dyke Path, the location being not far off the path. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Inn is tastefully decorated to give a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Our room was clean and comfortable with a good sized bathroom. Evening meals and breakfast were very good. We stayed in some nice places on our Offa’s Dyke walk and this was undoubtedly one of the best. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Sunday lunch!

Lovely Sunday lunch, food was delicious and atmosphere was great. Service was excellent too. Will definitely be back!

Lovely Inn and wonderful stay

Lovely place, staff were very friendly on arrival. We were in room 5 which is the king size loft room, it smelt lovely and was spotlessly clean. If I could make one suggestion, maybe another chair in the room so there is seating for both guests. Apart from that is was perfect and everything you needed. Bed was super comfy and we had a perfect nights sleep. Breakfast was tasty and set us up for the day. I would recommend staying here, the bar is a nice clean and welcoming area with comfortable seating and lovely decor. We cannot fault the place at all.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good food, but some was overpriced.

Came to the Griffin Inn for a meal. We had Lamb Cutlets and the Burger.
The staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming too.
Our food came fairly quickly and was very tasty. Our son’s burger cane with chips and coleslaw and was a good sized portion. The lamb came with vegetables and potatoes and a tasty sauce.
I have given 4 out of 5 because the lamb cutlets were priced at £29 each and we felt that the meal was overpriced.
