quite wonderful
What can I say? WOW. A huge room with great bed, very delicious food in the in-house restaurant and the next morning an à la carte breakfast. And all this at a good price/performance ratio. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
There are few parking spaces behind the house, otherwise you can also park a few meters away on the road.

Discourteous & Inconsiderate Boot Brewery Van Driver
Hopefully the service of the staff in the pub/restaurant is far more friendly and customer focused than that of one of their delivery van drivers.
On driving through the built up area of Ticknall (30mph limit), I let a Royal Mail post office van cross in front of my car to enable the postman to park up to deliver his letters/parcels. His van straddled both the footpath and the left hand side of the road on a relatively narrow part of the main thoroughfare just before the low arched bridge. As there were several vehicles coming in the opposite direction, I naturally gave way, as they obviously had the right of way. The driver of the Boot Brewery company van, which was immediately behind my car was not happy at my considerate driving and showed their frustration by using their horn (several times) and gesticulating. Unfortunately for the driver they had pulled up so close to the back of my vehicle that they were not able to manoeuvre around me, and therefore had to wait until I moved by the parked Royal Mail van, when there was nothing coming in opposite direction.
Most vehicle drivers are trying to complete their journey as quickly as possible, but also as safely as possible, so in future a little more consideration to other road users would be greatly appreciated.

An unexpected delight
The recently renovated room was just lovely,
We chose dinner from the set menu and it was superb and obviously very popular. Food, wine and service could not be faulted. It was also great to see that the Boot Inn is not just a restaurant with rooms, it is a community hub. Local people could also go there just to drink and chat, no music and no TVs, just like pubs used to be with a buzzing atmosphere.
Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast.
Parking is tight and we were lucky to get one of the last spaces. But it wasn’t far to a local car park.

Really, Really Great Food, Amazing Wine, Beautiful Rooms.
The picture of The Boot on Trip Advisor does not do it justice.
1. The service is always excellent. The staff remember you and seem genuinely pleased to see you again - nothing is too much trouble.
2. The recently renovated rooms are quite beautiful and luxurious.
3. The food, no matter what time of day, is exceptionally well prepared and presented.
4. Finally, the wine list. The Boot serve fabulous wines by the glass. No need to buy a bottle to cover all courses, tastes and then match the food - which never works. They use a wine preserving system, so the wine does not go off. Fabulous! It is also an opportunity to try wines that by the bottle may be expensive.
In case you didn’t realise, we love The Boot.

Amazing Hotel
Every single member of staff was amazing, food excellent and the rooms were so cosy and homely. Thankyou for caring.
