Clean, spacious, comfortable rooms - would absolutely stay again

In the height of Alaska’s tourist season when many hotels are full and prices are high, I wasn't sure what to expect from a relatively low-priced motel. There was nobody in the lobby, just a phone and instructions to call. Someone answered promptly, checked us in, and texted the room number and combination to open the door. That was different, but fast and easy. The single queen room was quite large, with a little table and a pair of chairs, a mini-kitchen. Impressive! After a day exploring the MatSu valley we wound up coming back for a second night and took a king room on the 3rd floor. As some reviewers noted the elevator only goes to the 2nd floor, but we didn't need all our luggage so it was fine. Another large, clean room, this one with sliding doors that open to a shared rooftop space with a nice view. Green space across the street, shopping and restaurants nearby, and if you can't find what you need in Palmer it's a short drive to Wasilla.

Super Clean Rooms

The main great thing about this hotel is how clean they keep the rooms and bedding. They have a wide variety of rooms in terms of looks, amenities, and even shapes! Some rooms are triangles, others are L-shaped, and many are rectangles. Some have kitchenettes and full refrigerators. There's a restaurant on premises that's open until 3 PM and a youth amusement center in the basement with afternoon hours and a $1.00 cover charge. It's a non-smoking building, but a lot of people ignore the signs, unfortunately. (I photographed the hotel for them, so I've seen pretty much all of it).

Nice hotel , enjoyed our stay

Was impressed with this hotel. No one manning the desk at any time but the phone on the desk connects you to a human and check in at 3 , not earlier, was easy. The room on the second floor is large and clean, our view was a stone wall but that was not a big deal. The weather wasn't suitable to enjoy the outside top deck.
PROS - There is a breakfast/lunch restaurant attached. We did not use it
- The Palmer Bar and Grill is walking distance to the hotel. A local cozy place to get a drink or food.
- There are a few nice shops within walking distance too if you need some shopping therapy .
- The room was clean and spacious. The area felt safe.
CONS- not all rooms have a mountain view.
- No human at the check in desk, but wasn't really an issue, just odd.
This hotel is conveniently located to the center of town. Palmer is not a big booming town, but this hotel provides a home base to venture out to other areas and is a short drive to the state fair.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. In the future, I will be staying here instead of Anchorage. Longer drive for me, but WOW!
