Old Rustic Home

I love the Colonial In been going there with my kids since they first stared skiing. It is old and rustic a step back in time. I am relaxed and able to feel at home. There will be people that do not like the place those folks can go elsewhere :-} The folks that see the place the way it is and can appreciate a place over 100 years old will have a good stay. I sat with Steve as he told me his story on how he came about getting this place. He made a great life here and it shows. You see how people appreciate the love that is in this place that Steve created in it.

Interesting stay

Holy S*it are you in for a surprise !! let me start by saying it was an interesting stay..lol started out with check in was met by a guy cleaning he's 12 ga. shot gun !! who told his daughter to get us a room. when going to the room on the 2nd floor the floor was creaking like it was going to brake. got to the room, room are very old..wall paper looks like the 1800's pealing in closet... woke in the morning to something flying in the room, think it was a Bat!!..on the upside they have breakfast on site..

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

I can't believe I haven't found this place for as long as I've been getting lost in the Catskills!!!
Native New Yorker STEVE is a quintessential INNKEEPER and this place, built in 1790, has a RICH HISTORY, AMAZING ARTIFACTS and HISTORY!!!
If you love AMERICANA - YOU NEEEED TO VISIT THIS PLACE AT LEAST ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!!!

Horror in the Catskills

Booked a weekend at the colonial inn had friends camping at north/south campgrounds, arrived in the afternoon, went to check in and was greeted my a nice young lady who told us to talk to her dad to check in...was met by an older gentleman CLEANING HIS RIFLE...lol that was an indication of things to come.. checked into the room where I found everything hooked up to extension cords..the place looked like something you would see in a horror movie.. the kind of place you would find Lizzy borden..ceiling tiles water stained...hasn't been updated in 50 yrs...on the bright side woke up to a bat flying around the room @ 5:30 on the morning...

Scary

We came here with a few friends to have some drinks at the bar after staying at the emerson which turned out to be a nightmare there as well with the terrible food and tacky service. The bartender was horrible. It was also very dirty here.
