The outside of the hotel is having a major overhaul / revamp so is not at its best. Reception is stylish but once you are beyond that the hotel could do with a good dollop of TLC. A lick of paint on the walls, repairing chips on doors and other woodwork plus new carpets could transform this hotel. A good, well sized bathroom. A very large comfortable bed gave me a good nights sleep. I did have earplugs which were needed as the toilet system seemed to have life of its own. I'm not sure what was going on with it but it seemed to partially flush every 5 to 10 minutes throughout the night.

Good location
Nice rooms with very comfortable beds and nice salon. Shower control was partly broken. Good location in the center. Friendly welcome. Rich breakfast buffet. A little mood lighting on the buffet would be welcome. Very outdated dining room, in urgent need of renewal.

Didn't enjoy very much
Location of the hotel was ok and view from the room to the street was also nice. The hotel and room had a well functioning AC, which was a good benefit during the heatwave. There was an iron in the room, also a kettle and plenty of storage room for things. However, cleanliness could have been better. Some towels smelled a bit bad and some plates at breakfast room were dirty. Toilet seat and cover were dirty. My room had a squeaky bed which made very loud noise even when I just laid flat and moved only my toes or fingers. There was only cold water in the shower, I didn't understand whether it was broken or I should have waited for a very long time. I had to go through several corridors that felt a bit abandoned to get to my room, it seemed that several buildings were connected. I would say that overall atmosphere was not for my vibes, but it could be improved easily. :)

Good hotel
2 stars for Hotel location is just fantastic in shopping street and 10min walk to restaurants, 3 min walk to metro
1 star for room size the biggest in Brussels and offer comfy seats and hotel staff were very welcoming and allowed early check in at 10:30 am
The hotel lost stars in the following
1 star lost in the room maintenance plug next to bed was made with no safety features my cable melted and plug melted luckily I avoided a major fire as I’ve entered the room at that time yet hotel didn’t offer any compensation for my plug and cables which cost me 60€ to repurchase.
1 on cleanse of the hotel , in the corridor and between the rooms there is a very weird and awful smell beside, stains in the room carpet, shower door leeks water in the room
I would stay again at this hotel but for this price they need to do a lot of refurbishment and maintenance work

I recently stayed at the Marivaux Hotel and initially had a very positive experience. The hotel itself is lovely, and the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay.
However, on my final night, I experienced a serious issue that I feel future guests should be aware of—I was bitten multiple times overnight and strongly suspect bed bugs. The bites were extensive and appeared suddenly after that night, which made the situation quite concerning.
This was extremely uncomfortable and unfortunately overshadowed what had otherwise been a pleasant stay. I did not notice any issues earlier in my visit, but this highlights how important it is for hotels to maintain thorough and regular checks of their rooms.
I want to stress that the staff were kind and the hotel has many positives, but I believe it’s important to raise this issue so it can be addressed promptly and so other guests can take appropriate precautions.
